Responsibilities
·
Serve as a technical
mentor to a team of engineers creating intrusion protection system (IPS)
signatures
·
Perform research
into new attacks and future vectors of infection
·
Identify and develop
prototype protection solutions for network attacks
·
Create and vet
design documents for new products and features
·
Publish and research
and speak at industry events
·
Reverse engineer
malicious network attacks with the goal of creating IPS signatures and custom
reports detailing the attack actions
·
Reverse engineer
vulnerabilities and document conditions necessary for exploitation
·
Provide day-to-day
technical guidance to other engineers on the team and may include provisioning
work and ensuring deliverables are met
·
Required to create
tools and systems to aid in reverse engineering attacks including network
protocol parsers, network protocol parsers, and debugging and vulnerability
discovery tools
·
Remain apprised of
current security trends and topics
·
Must be able to work
under high-pressure situations
Qualifications
·
Degree in computer
science or equivalent experience
·
Solid x86 assembly
and C/C++ programming skills
·
Solid understanding
of networking including network protocols
·
Knowledge of Windows
system internals
·
Experience in
reverse engineering including using disassemblers and debuggers is mandatory
·
Knowledge of
scripting languages such as Perl or Python is a plus.
